Left-handedness / Society
Observed in recent years an increasing proportion of left-writing students in elementary schools. This shows that young left-handers can now grow up as normal and equal people.
However, the issue of left-handedness is still leading to heated discussions. There is a generation gap on this issue, while the older generation thinks left-handers should be retrainedand now even the younger generation believe retraining is no longer meaningful.
If you make a journey of language it will be seen clearly that even in the Latin language showsthat the left has been interpreted pejoratively.
Left (on the left lat) has been or will be translated as:
clumsy
evil
awkward
During artery (right lat) is equivalent to:
courage
bravery
Loyalty.
This devaluation has manifested itself today in the German language, eg
Have two left hands
someone left
Skate over
A leftie.
Right, however, is only associated with positive characteristics:
Have his heart in the right place
be right
correct
Time.
Because of these and some other social prejudices, it was often for the retraining of former left-handed.
